What Your Gift Can Do
The Gerontology Institute makes a difference in the lives of older adults and the aging community through research, education and community engagements. Your support allows us to build on our strengths and develop new capacity to involve students and faculty in the field of gerontology.
Your support will help in our strategic areas:
Programming: Consider making an unrestricted gift so we can build our intellectual community through events and speakers throughout the year.
Student scholarships: Gerontology students are passionate about making a difference in the lives of older adults. Unfortunately, financial challenges sometimes preclude the ability of some of our students to complete their studies or take full advantage of the opportunities available to them. Donating to existing scholarship funds strengthens the impact of these awards.
To see a list of the Gerontology programs and scholarships you can contribute to:
- netcommunity.gsu.edu/find-my-fund
- In the dropdown menu under Category choose "College of Arts and Sciences"
- Under Departments choose "11360-Gerontology" and click the SEARCH button. The search results will provide a list of programs to which you can contribute.
The Carol Rowe Jones and Waymon Jones Scholarship, established by Carol Rowe Jones, an alumna of the Gerontology Institute, and her husband, Waymon Jones, is awarded annually to an outstanding gerontology student.
