BARBARA PAYNE LECTURESHIP
The Barbara Pittard Payne Lectureship was established in 1990 in honor of Dr. Barbara Payne-Stancil (pictured right), founding director of the Gerontology Center (now the Gerontology Institute) at Georgia State University. The lectureship is a tribute to Dr. Payne-Stancil’s distinguished career and contributions to the field of Gerontology. Inaugurated in 1993, the lectureship annually continues to bring to the Georgia State campus a distinguished individual from the field of Gerontology. It is funded through the generous contributions of faculty, students, alumni and friends of Georgia State.
