Sheryl Strasser is currently an assistant professor in the School of Public Health. She received her doctorate from University of Alabama at Birmingham in health education and health promotion in 2003. Dr. Strasser previously held a joint faculty position within the New York University Colleges of Dentistry and Nursing. She served as the planning and evaluation specialist for the Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation, where she helped develop the nationally recognized Internal Quality Improvement Data Capture System, provided training, medical record implementation, and statistical process control methods to various health care agencies. She has served as chair on several committees within her field.
Dr. Strasser was awarded the Community-Based Falls Prevention Research Recognition Award in 2008 .She is a Manuscript Reviewer for the Journal of General Internal Medicine and the Qulaity Improvement Champion for the New York University Nurse Faculty Practice Primary Care Clinic, where she oversees the quarterly quality indicator measurements.
